Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her stage title Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first posted music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole had her sing her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to work alongside her on some of the songs. The announcement that she would sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. Also, she was featured in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music clip was followed by a video in September. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On the 13th of November, two brand new singles titled The No One and pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and she released the song in a solo version to her first album. The music video premiered on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of the year 2018.
